LOGIS, a Czech producer of Advanced Planning and Scheduling software technologies, announced today that it has successfully completed the implementation of its LOGIS Caster Scheduler product for The Timken Company, a global friction management and power transmission products provider. The Caster Scheduler is being used by the company’s Steel Group, which produces alloy steel bars and tubing and offers value-added steel processing. “Creating a high-quality order fulfillment plan for Timken’s Steel Group meant dealing with large number of constraints and business objectives that need to be satisfied. LOGIS Caster Scheduler can deal with these challenges quickly and efficiently. Thanks to that, today we have top-quality plans for our short- and long-run orders. The LOGIS Caster Scheduler is helping us enhance service to our customers and increase our operational excellence,” said William P. Bryan, director – supply chain and supply chain economics at Timken. “From the inception of our relationship with LOGIS, we have had a common vision…that we will only accept success. This philosophy is prevalent in all that LOGIS does. They have all the required tools and skills to succeed, but most importantly they have the desire to provide business benefits to their customers and they will not rest until they deliver what they have committed.” “The cooperation with the Timken team was a professional experience for us. The teams on both sides worked under heavy pressure and had to deal with a number of demanding tasks. None of that, however, had any effect on the good atmosphere, which was present throughout the implementation,“ said Dalibor Konvicka, Chairman and CEO at LOGIS. “Timken is known for being one of the first major companies that used advanced planning software technologies in the early 90s. We are glad to be able to contribute to the increase of their planning and ordering system at this highly progressive company.“
